Hi guys,

I recently received my laptop back from Asus and now when using any word processing program I'm prompted to save via Save As pop up following almost every key stroke. I'm not sure what happened or what is going on and was hoping someone may have an idea as to how to stop this from happening.

Thanks,

Kit

Hi Kit, It sounds like the behavior you are experiencing with constant prompts to save files in word processing programs could be due to a setting or a recent change made on your laptop. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this issue: 1. Check AutoRecover Settings: - In Microsoft Word, go to "File" -> "Options" -> "Save." - Check the AutoRecover frequency and location settings. Adjust them as needed. 2. Disable AutoSave: - Some programs have an AutoSave feature that can trigger frequent save prompts. Look for this feature in the settings and disable it. 3. Check Keyboard Settings: - Ensure that there are no stuck keys on your keyboard that might be constantly triggering the save dialog. 4...

Check for Macros or Add-Ins: - Sometimes, macros or add-ins can cause unexpected behavior. Disable any third-party add-ins and check if the issue persists. 5. Update or Reinstall the Word Processing Program: - If the issue persists, try updating the word processing program to the latest version. If that doesn't work, consider reinstalling the program. 6. System Restore: - If you recently received your laptop back from Asus and the issue started after that, you could use System Restore to revert your system to a point before the problem occurred. 7. Contact Asus Support: - If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contacting Asus support for further assistance might be helpful. Try these steps and see if they help resolve the frequent save prompts issue in your word processing programs. Let me know if you need more assistance!
