Windows 7 Screen Won't Turn Off

Please tell me where to look.........
W7-7600 32bit
Dell 8200 Inspiron Laptop
72.3 nVidia 440 Go driver.
Set to turn off screen in 10 min -- but never does.

Go to Control Panel > Power Options, click the Choose when to turn off the display, then click the Change Advanced Power settings and go through the entire list looking for the correct setting.

I don't know if I did something in the menu but it mysteriously started working after I shut it down for the night and rebooted.
