When I'm on a skype conversation with soemone, only that will play through my headset; music will play through the speakers. When I end the conversation, music will return to my headset. I'm sure there is some setting that can fix this but I for the life of me cant find it.

It sounds like you're facing an issue with audio output settings on Skype. To ensure that Skype conversations play through your headset while music plays through the speakers, and that the music switches back to the headset after ending a conversation, you may need to adjust the audio settings on your computer. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you set this up:

Step 1: Change Default Playback Device in Windows

  1. Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and select "Open Sound settings."
  2. Under the "Choose your output device" section, make sure your headset is set as the default playback device.

  3. Click on "Device properties" below the output device and ensure that the headset is set as the default device for sound playback.

Step 2: Configure Skype Audio Settings

  4. Open Skype and sign in to your account.
  5. Go to "Settings" by clicking on your profile picture in the top left corner.
  6. In the Settings menu, navigate to the "Audio & Video" section.
  7. Check that the correct audio device (your headset) is selected for both speakers and microphone in the "Speakers" and "Microphone" dropdown menus.

    Step 3: Additional Settings

  8. In the Windows Sound settings, you can set your speakers as the default communication device (for Skype calls) while keeping the headset as the default playback device.
  9. To do this, right-click on your speakers in the Sound settings and choose "Set as default communication device." By following these steps, you should be able to separate audio output for Skype conversations and music playback on your computer. If you still encounter issues, you may also check Skype's advanced audio settings for any specific configurations that might be affecting the audio output. Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance!
