When Im playing a game in windowed mode or chatting with people using different chat clients why oh why does windows 7 minimize the programs when I click the desktop by mistake?

Is there any way to disable this feature? I tried searching on google and using the search function on this forum but couldnt find anything.

This has got to be one of the most annyoing features of W7.

Please, for the love of *insert immaginary entity in the sky*, how do u disable this terrible feature?!

Solution
It can indeed be frustrating when Windows 7 minimizes programs while you are in the middle of playing a game or chatting with others. This behavior is due to a feature called "Aero Shake," where shaking a window minimizes all other windows on the desktop. To disable this feature and prevent unintentional minimization when interacting with the desktop, you can follow these steps:

How to Disable Aero Shake in Windows 7:

  1. Using the Control Panel:
    • Go to the Control Panel.
    • Click on "Ease of Access."
    • Select "Ease of Access Center."
    • Click on "Make the mouse easier to use."
    • Uncheck the box next to "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen."

    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
    • Type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to the following key:
      Code:
       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    • Look for a DWORD value named "DisallowShaking".
    • Set the value of "DisallowShaking" to 1 to disable Aero Shake or 0 to enable it.

    ]Third-Party Tools:
    • You can also explore third-party tools that offer more advanced customization options for window behavior in Windows 7. By following these steps, you should be able to disable the Aero Shake feature in Windows 7 and prevent unintentional program minimization when interacting with the desktop.
