I use an ipaq 114 windows mobile based PDA on a Dell Vostro 1710, recently moved from Vista Pro to 7 pro
First synchro after updated to 7 was OK
Now, it is impossible, the status is as follow
- When I plug the ipaq, it is displayed in the "computer" tree structure
- When I check on the PDA, it is "connected"
- When I open the synchronisation center of Windows, there is an ipaq 114 in the list, but it is "disconnected"

I've tried to uncheck the "neable advanced network fonctionality" on the PDa... no change

I use windows firewall, and AVG free antivirus (as far as I remember, during 1st synchro which was OK, I was still using antivir instead of AVG, but I don't think it comes from that

Does anybody have an idea or a suggestion?

Reinstall Windows Mobile Device Center: - Uninstall the existing Windows Mobile Device Center. - Download and install the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center compatible with Windows 7 from the Microsoft website. 3. Check USB Connection: - Ensure that the USB cable and ports are working properly. - Try using a different USB port on your Dell Vostro 1710. 4. Update Device Drivers: - Update the drivers for the iPAQ 114 on your Dell Vostro 1710. - Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your PDA. 5. Check Security Software Settings: - Temporarily disable Windows Firewall and AVG antivirus to see if they are blocking the synchronization process. - If disabling the security software allows synchronization, adjust the settings to allow communication between the PDA and the computer. 6. Soft Reset the iPAQ: - Perform a soft reset on your iPAQ 114 to refresh its settings. - Check the manufacturer's instructions for the specific steps to perform a soft reset. 7. Check Device Compatibility: - Verify that the iPAQ 114 is fully compatible with Windows 7 Pro. - Some older devices may have limited functionality or compatibility with newer operating systems. After trying these steps, attempt to synchronize your iPAQ 114 with the Windows Mobile Device Center again and see if the issue persists. If you continue to experience problems, you may need to explore further troubleshooting or seek assistance from HP support or Microsoft forums for Windows Mobile devices. Let me know if you need more specific guidance on any of these steps!
