If I create a system restore disk or create a system image whilst backing up, do both take the current system image including all updates installed to the point of time I did the back-up ?

Solution
A system image backup is a picture of your current install which allows that install to be recreated at a future date. So yes, it includes all updates and changes made up to that time.

I use the Windows Image Backup, but others as you can tell, prefer third party utilities.
If you want a full image inoorporating the entire up to date contents of of your system I recommend a third party solution such as Macrium Reflect (available as a free download for home use).
