Hello everyone, I've got Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and I've recently been getting the BSOD with the "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" error. I was wondering if you guys have had the same problem and if you can tell me what I can do to fix it? I'll post the hardware in my rig below.

Case: Coolermaster Sniper Black Edition
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 810
Motherboard: Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5
RAM: 8GB of G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 MHz
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850
Belkin N1 wireless card
2 x 500 GB Western Digital Black HDD's
LG DVD Burner

I've only recently started getting this error, and it's usually when I'm heavily multitasking with several messenger windows and internet tabs open.

The "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" blue screen error can be quite frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. Here are some recommendations to help you diagnose and fix the problem:
  1. Update Drivers:
    • Make sure all your drivers are up to date, especially for your graphics card, network adapter, and motherboard. Outdated drivers can often cause system errors like the one you're experiencing.
    []Check for Windows Updates:
    • Ensure that your system is fully updated with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches or fixes that address specific system errors.

    ]Check for System File Errors:
    • Use the built-in Windows System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command: sfc /scannow.
    []Run Memory Diagnostic:
    • Run Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for any memory issues. You can access this tool by searching for "Windows Memory Diagnostic" in the Start menu.
    [
    ]Check for Overheating:
    • Ensure that your system is not overheating as excessive heat can lead to system crashes. Make sure all fans are working properly and clean any dust buildup in your system.
    []Disable Overclocking:
    • If you have overclocked any hardware components, try reverting them to their default settings as overclocking can sometimes cause stability issues.
    [
    ]Check for Malware:
    • Perform a full system scan using your installed antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that may be causing the issue.
    []Check Event Viewer:
    • Use the Event Viewer in Windows to view error logs and identify the specific cause of the BSOD. Look for any recurring error patterns that may point to a specific driver or hardware issue.
    [
    ]Test Hardware Components:
    • Test your hardware components individually to identify any faulty hardware. This includes testing your RAM modules, hard drives, and other peripherals.
  2. Restore to a Previous State:
    • If the issue started recently, you can try to restore your system to a previous restore point where the error was not occurring. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" BSOD error on your Windows 7 Pro system. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
