When downloading many free programs, you'll be offered the opportunity to install additional "piggy back" programs that are usually toolbars that you'll decide:
(a) You didn't want to install.
(b) You no longer use them.

Antiseptic, a portable program from T-Tools will remove (at the time of posting) the following toolbars that may be surplus to requirements:
  • Ask Toolbar
  • AIM Toolbar
  • DVDVideoSoft Toolbar
  • Yahoo! Toolbar
  • MsgPlus! Toolbar
  • Norton Security Scan
  • Deamon Tools Toolbar
  • xp-AntiSpy Support
  • Web Security Guard
  • Skype Toolbar
  • SweetIM

Thomas Hoen: If you download some free programs, they sometimes offer you a pre-checked option to download another free program, like an extra toolbar, at the same time. These programs are called add-on programs or piggyback programs. Ideally you would 'uncheck' the option during installation because you often do not need need such an extra program but you could end up with on or more of these programs and experience some difficulties removing them.

We at T-Tools have created a program that is especially designed to help you remove these add-on programs. Simply download and install our T-Tools' Antiseptic tool, hit the search button and decide which add-on program you want to remove from your computer.

Over time we will add more and more of these add-on programs, so keep your eye on this page to check for regular updates of T-Tools' Antiseptic.

Be aware that these add-on programs are in most cases not malicious but simply useful programs that you don't like using....

If you frequently download free programs, it's common to encounter offers to install additional software, such as toolbars, during the installation process. These additional programs are often referred to as "piggyback" programs or add-on programs. They may include toolbars that you either didn't intend to install or no longer find useful. Removing such toolbars can sometimes be challenging. T-Tools offers a portable program called Antiseptic that aims to help you remove various toolbars that you might consider unnecessary or no longer wish to retain. As of the time of the original post, Antiseptic can remove the following toolbars:
  • Ask Toolbar
  • AIM Toolbar
  • DVDVideoSoft Toolbar
  • Yahoo! Toolbar
  • MsgPlus! Toolbar
  • Norton Security Scan
  • Daemon Tools Toolbar
  • xp-AntiSpy Support
  • Web Security Guard
  • Skype Toolbar
  • SweetIM According to Thomas Hoen from T-Tools, add-on programs or piggyback programs are often non-malicious but may be unwanted by users. T-Tools provides Antiseptic as a solution to help users manage and remove these additional programs from their systems. For the latest information and to download T-Tools' Antiseptic tool, you can visit http://www.t-tools.nl/antisepticen.php. This tool aims to simplify the process of identifying and removing unnecessary toolbars and add-on programs that might have been installed alongside free software.
