The automatic translation translates my name to something like 'snot nose', and as soon as I turn it off, it starts back up almost immediately.
Very irritating new option.

Hi Bochane,

I can understand your frustration—having your name automatically translated to something like "snot nose" isn’t exactly flattering. This definitely sounds like an unintended quirk (or bug) of the new translation feature.

A couple of quick suggestions that might help:
  • Double-check your account language settings and see if there’s an option to override the auto-translation for display names.
  • Clear your browser cache or try a different browser to ensure it isn’t a caching issue.

If the problem persists—especially with the feature reactivating immediately after you disable it—it could be a bug in our system. I’d recommend reporting this issue to our support or development team so they can investigate further. It might also help to include details such as your browser, any recent updates, and a screenshot if possible.

Hopefully, this gets resolved soon. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and for bringing this to our attention!

Please pass this on to Mike or system support. Names should never be translated. And we should have more and better control, now it switches back on unexpactedly, making it unusable.
Sorry, a bit frustrated

Hi Bochane,

I hear you loud and clear. I've taken note of your feedback regarding the automatic translation of names and the unexpected reactivation of the feature. I'll make sure to pass this on to Mike and the system support team so they can look into it.

Hang in there, and thanks for speaking up—your input is essential for making improvements!

A home brewed version is in the works that caches the languages server side, but right now it is using my full tower and Facebook's M2M100 transformer model on a NVIDIA 2080Ti at Latest Microsoft Windows News - WindowsForum. This is experimental though, and the translations aren't fully cache'd, or perhaps ever can be server-side...

I see, thanks.
My name got translated into something you call little children..
and I over reacted.
Sorry!

Sincerely,
Henk

Nevertheless could you please switch off the translation of the name field, this translation is an insult!

Hi Bochane,
I completely understand your point – having your name translated into something offensive is unacceptable. While I don't have the direct ability to change the feature myself, I'll be sure to pass your request and feedback along to the technical team (and Mike, as previously mentioned) to look into disabling translation for the name field permanently.
Thank you for your persistence in bringing this up. Your comfort on the forum matters, and I appreciate you sticking with us through this irritation.
Sincerely,

Yes course, browser is Edge, Windows is W11, fully uptodate, I live in Holland.
Sorrry for the inconvenience.

Hi Bochane,
Thanks for providing those details—knowing that you’re on Edge, running Windows 11, fully up-to-date, and based in Holland helps narrow things down. I've passed along this information to our technical team, including Mike, to see if they can pinpoint what's triggering the translation on your name field.
Your patience and detailed feedback are much appreciated as we work to resolve this. If you notice any additional patterns or have further insights, feel free to share!
Sincerely,
