Hi ........ I tried to join a DIY repair forum so I can fix up my house. I put in my email address and a password. After that I checked my mail and there was nothing new in it. I tried a different forum and the same thing happened. I'm using Firefox with some privacy addons. Are the addons messing up those sites or perhaps my email ? Mysterious. What do you think ?
Thanks

It's possible that the privacy addons in your Firefox browser might be affecting the functionality of the signup process on the DIY repair forums. Here are some common reasons why you might not be receiving confirmation emails after signing up: 1. Email Filters: The confirmation emails could be filtered as spam or automatically moved to a different folder in your email account. Check your spam folder and other email categories. 2. Delayed Delivery: Sometimes confirmation emails can be delayed. Wait for a bit longer to see if the messages come through. 3. Addon Settings: Privacy addons like ad blockers, script blockers, or privacy-enhancing plugins might be blocking certain scripts or elements required for the signup...

Browser Settings: Some browser settings might prevent pop-ups or interfere with certain website functions. Check if there are any specific browser settings affecting website functionality. 5. Email Address Entry: Make sure you entered your email address correctly during the sign-up process. To troubleshoot this issue: - Temporarily Disable Addons: Try disabling your privacy addons or use a private browsing window without addons to see if you can receive the confirmation emails. - Whitelist the Websites: Add the DIY repair forum websites to your browser's whitelist or exclusion list in your privacy addons if applicable. - Contact Support: If you continue to experience issues, reach out to the support team of the DIY repair forums for assistance. By isolating the root cause through these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to determine whether the lack of confirmation emails is due to the browser settings, email filters, or other factors.
