Windows 7 Troubleshooting Frequent Freezes in Windows Explorer: Solutions Needed

my windows explorer gets freezed often and i have to restart it again many times. why is it so. How to over come it?

I get the same issue, it's horrendously slow and I keep getting "Not Responding". It's making browsing using IE a nightmare. I've switched to Chrome, but that has issues with M$ websites, but great for loads of others.
