To disable tapping on a Synaptics touchpad, you can usually find the setting in the touchpad settings. Here's how you can typically do this:
Access Touchpad Settings:
Look for the Synaptics touchpad icon in the system tray (usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen, near the clock).
Right-click on the icon to access the Synaptics touchpad settings.
[]Locate Tapping Option:
Within the touchpad settings window, look for an option related to tapping. It might be named something like "Tapping," "Tap Zones," or "Touch Sensitivity."

[]Disable Tapping:
Once you locate the tapping option, you should be able to disable it from there. If you are unable to find the tapping option in the Synaptics touchpad settings, you can try the following alternative method:
[]Windows Settings:
Go to the Windows Settings by pressing Windows key + I.
Navigate to "Devices" and then select "Touchpad."
[]Touchpad Settings in Windows Settings:
Look for touchpad settings within the Windows Settings menu.
There might be an option to disable tapping or customize touchpad gestures. If these methods do not work for you, you can also try the following additional steps:
[]Registry Editor (Advanced Users):
Press Windows key + R to open the "Run" dialog.
Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
Navigate to the following key:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh
Look for a key named UseScrollCursor and set its value to 0.
[]Third-Party Software:
Consider using third-party software that allows for more advanced touchpad customization. If none of these methods work for you, please let me know so I can explore further options to help you disable tapping on your Synaptics touchpad.
