Hey all!
I've been having issues with my PC detecting my USB Keyboard and Mouse for some time now. Sometimes it would detect them and go to install them but then tell me "The device is unplugged" (whih wasn't true, I checked all of the cables everytime. Usually I have to uninstall the USB tree and reinstall it several times before it detects my mouse and keyboard, but recently something else happened. During my uninstall/reinstall pattern, I noticed it had detected my keyboard/mouse, but when it reinstalled the Via USB Enhanced Host Controller, my pc suddenly lost connection with both of them. When I disabled the Controller, suddenly I had mouse and keyboard again. Any idea what could cause this? Is the "enhanced" usb host controller important? I haven't noticed a difference as my usb doesn't seem to work correctly when it's enabled. :/ Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

While it's not a standard USB controller, it should enhance the performance of USB devices connected to your system. 2. Troubleshooting Steps: - Driver Update: Ensure that the drivers for your USB Enhanced Host Controller are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes lead to such issues. - Power Management: Check the power settings for the USB Host Controllers in the Device Manager. Sometimes, power-saving settings can cause issues with USB devices. - USB Power Settings: Some motherboards have USB power settings in the BIOS. You might want to check if there are any relevant settings affecting the USB ports. - Testing: Try connecting your keyboard and mouse to different USB ports to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to certain ports. - Device Manager: Keep an eye on the Device Manager when connecting and disconnecting your devices to see if any errors or warnings are generated. 3. USB Hub: If you have a USB hub or any other USB devices connected, try removing them temporarily to see if they are causing any conflicts. 4. Hardware Check: It's also worth checking your keyboard and mouse on another computer to ensure they are functioning correctly. This will help verify if the issue lies with the devices or the PC itself. If you continue to experience issues, it might be worth consulting with a technician or reaching out to the manufacturer for further assistance. In some cases, a clean reinstall of the USB drivers or even a Windows update might resolve the problem. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
