I'm currently using a Gateway ML3109 laptop. It came with Vista already installed.

I installed Windows 7 v7201 and now I can't get the resolution higher than 768. Everything is stretched horizontally and it looks terrible. It looks fine on Vista.

When I try to install other video drivers, it tells me the best drivers are installed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of the correct Vista drivers and/or how to install them without Windows prompting me that the "best" are installed?

    []Driver Signature Enforcement:
    • When installing the drivers, Windows might block them due to driver signature enforcement.
    • Here's how you can temporarily disable this:
      • Restart your computer and press F8 before Windows loads.
      • Choose "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement."
      • Proceed with the driver installation.
    []Compatibility Mode:
    • You can try installing the Vista drivers in compatibility mode:
      • Right-click on the driver executable and select "Properties."
      • In the Compatibility tab, check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
      • Select Windows Vista from the drop-down menu.

        Finding Vista Drivers:

      [
    • ]To find the correct Vista drivers for your laptop, visit the Gateway support website or search for the drivers based on your laptop model (Gateway ML3109) and the operating system (Windows Vista).

Using Compatibility Mode During Driver Installation:

[]Sometimes, Windows 7 may recognize the Vista drivers as outdated, but you can still force the installation in compatibility mode:
      1. Right-click on the driver installer.
      2. Select "Properties" and navigate to the "Compatibility" tab.
      3. Check the box that says, "Run this program in compatibility mode for."
      4. Choose Windows Vista from the drop-down menu.
      5. Run the installer again.

        Checking Resolution Settings:

      [
]After installing the display drivers, ensure your display resolution is set to the native resolution of your screen: []Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings." []Adjust the resolution to match the native resolution of your display for the best quality. By following these steps, you should be able to install the correct drivers and adjust the display resolution on your Gateway ML3109 laptop running Windows 7.
