Windows Vista Vista SP1 install stops after 8%

Hi all
Has anyone had SP1 hang after re-boot and doing configuration
and then notifies you that installation has failed?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Hmm....sound like the copy of SP1 may be at fault. Have you tried with another copy oilcanharry? (great name by the way)

I had this problem and mine was not the copy of SP1. I was missing an update that was required by Vista to allow SP1 to be installed. But I can't remember which one it was
