This morning I recieved a telephone call from someone claiming to be a MS rep saying I'd reported some virus activity on my machine. He then asked me to call up my 'temp' files and with nothing being found in there he then asked me to call my 'prefetch' files. This time the folder did indeed contain some files which he tried to convince me were viruses and I should go to this site:

:site removed for safety:

What he actually wanted to sell me I'm unsure as I'd by this point I'd told him to bugger off...

I'm now in the process of reporting the site..

Unbelievable! Please don't go to that site, who knows if they are tracking IP's. I keep getting calls from a call center to refinance my mortgage :D

I know! These guys will stop at nothing to sell you something..

I've also removed the link as I'd hate anyone else getting the same hassle..

Hi,

If you think your system is already infected or you have a doubt please install this Anti-Malware program and scan your computer.

Please click on this link below for free security scanner Anti-Malware Bytes.
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
So download the S/W and install and please do full systems scan
Once the scan is done it will show you the infected files so click on Show Result and Remove Selected option.
Restart the computer it should be fine.
