Hey all, I know WebDAV has been hell ever since MS messed things up with Windows Vista. They had to issue a patch to update the components after vista was released and now WebDAV is an even bigger pain in the arse with Windows 7.

My university has created a network share for university student to connect to and we can download the podcasts of our lectures and the powerpoint slides before or after lecture. The problem is that the share is protected by https:// so you must enter the url where the share is located starting with the https:// prefix.

After I use the map network drive command option in 'Computer' and try to enter the URL where the share is located and Windows 7 prompts me and says the folder name is invalid. WTF? How would windows 7 know whether it is invalid or not?

I have also noticed it doesn't work on Windows 7 x86 or x64.

There is a very nice, simple free program called AnyClient that can connect incase anyone is looking for a way to connect like I was. :frown:

If anyone has any helpful hints to get the WebDAV function built into Windows 7 to work please let me know.
