Is there a diffrence between uploading information on Skydrive and just sending an email attachment to someone directly?

Solution
Those are totally 2 different items...Skydrive is a cloud based storage system so you don't have to keep data stored on your physical HDD. As a bonus with Skydrive, it will allow you to share specific files and folders...if you wish. An email with an attachment is just that....which can be either webbased or stored locally on your HDD.

When an attachment is too big and exceeds the size limits of the email service at either end, a service like Skydrive provides a mechanism for sharing the file.
