Windows 7 What is VSN service

I have googled this as it is not on blackvipers list of services which are present natively in windows 7, what is it, is it a virus, or is it something I can safely disable? It is "VSN service"

Do you have a Sony Vaio computer?

I think that VSN stands for Vaio Smart Network service and is installed by Sony on their computers.

I don't know exactly what it does.
