Windows 7 Which wireless adapter should I purchase?

I built my new computer and the only thing I need now is a wireless adapter. I have a Linksys N router that is located on the first floor of my house and about 50-80 feet away. Since I can not hard wire with an ethernet cable from my room which is on the second floor, I need a wireless card. I want it to be a N wireless adapter. I found two on new egg, but am still unsure about which I should buy.

Here are the ones I found

My computer is running Windows 7 Professional 64bit so I want to make sure that whatever N card I buy is compatible.

According to this the D-Link is not listed yet as Win 7 64 bit compatible http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=D-Link%20DWA-556%20Xtreme%20N%20PCI%20Express%20Desktop%20Wireless%20Network%20Adapter&v=D-Link&uid=DWA-556&pf=3&pi=9&c=Networking&sc=Wireless%20Network%20Cards&os=32-bit
And I can't find a single Edimax card listed anywhere on the Win 7 compatibility pages.
Go here and take a look, depending on the type of slots you have available on your machine, PCI PCIe ect, you choices of draft N cards that are both 64 and 32 bit compatible is slightly limited, looks like card made by Level One, SMC, and TrendWare might be it

Maybe someone else. I am always a bit reluctant to make such recommendations since networking and especially wireless networking is so interdependent on a host of different applications, sevices, protocols and technologies...frankly I'm often suprised that it works at all. So if you purchase something, based on my recommendations, and it sucks, I will feel responsible. My experience with Draft N is very limited.

Ha ha thats fine Trouble. Believe me, I know what you are talking about how complex it is. I took my first networking class last semester in college and was surprised about how intricate everything is. What ever suggestion you give me, or anyone else, I will still look it over and get a second opinion on it. I build my first pc just a few days ago and it took me a few months to figure out what I wanted, what worked together, and I basically learned a lot from just researching.

So if anyone has any suggestion on which wireless adapter I should purchase, please let me know.
I am looking for a N that is compatible with Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I have a N Linksys Router.

Oh and another question
Would it be better to purchase a wireless adapter that is PCI or one that is USB?
I would believe that PCI is better for a desktop PC instead of USB, but I have heard that USB is better. Why is that?

Not a recommendation mind you, but have you done any research on this one http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Linksys%20Wireless-N%20PCI%20Adapter%20with%20Dual-Band%20Wireless%20Network%20Adapter&v=Linksys&uid=WMP600N&pf=0&pi=6&c=Networking&sc=Wireless%20Network%20Cards&os=64-bit seems to me that it couldn't hurt to stay with the same manufacturer as your router, then you can direct all your anger with a single phone call to the same support line if things don't work

See, and now I feel responsible. I like NewEgg too, but they're not the only fish in the sea. Tiger Direct has it in stock and it's showing about 10 bucks cheaper than NewEgg was listing it.

So I heard mixed review about the WMP600N wireless adapter: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/co...etworking&sc=Wireless Network Cards&os=64-bit

Some people say that it does not have a good signal more than 20 feet from the routers and some say that it is great.

My router is a WRT350N Linksys: Newegg.com - LINKSYS WRT350N Draft 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x, 802.3ab, USB 2.0 Wireless-N Gigabit Router with Storage Link - Wireless Routers
What other wireless adapters work well with this router and Windows 7 64bit?
Right now the Linksys WMP600N wireless adapter is my only option of a N wireless adapter
