Windows also dynamically allocates ram for various caches. Your machine will release memory to be used by apps when needed. You have nothing to worry about. NmsUK Last edited: Sep 12, 2011

MikeHawthorne Essential Member Microsoft Community Contributor Sep 12, 2011 #4 Hi My computer uses 1830 MB of ram just sitting there, out of 8 Gigs. It seems like the more you have the more is uses. When I had Windows 7 on my old computer which had 2 Gigs, it only used about a quarter of that. Mike
