It seems like you are facing issues with setting up a proxy in Windows 7 to access a specific webpage that is restricted in Turkey. The fact that the proxy settings work in Windows XP but not in Windows 7 could be due to various reasons, such as differences in the network configuration, firewall settings, or compatibility issues between the operating systems. To troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue, here are some steps you can try:

Check Proxy Settings in Windows 7

  1. Proxy Configuration: Verify that the proxy settings in Windows 7 are correctly entered. Ensure that the proxy server address, port, and any authentication details are accurate.

  2. Browser Settings: Check the proxy settings not just on Internet Explorer but also on other browsers like Chrome or Firefox that you might be using.

    Network Configuration

  3. Firewall Settings: Windows 7 might have stricter firewall settings that are blocking the connection through the proxy. Adjust firewall rules to allow the proxy connection.
  4. Network Drivers: Ensure that network drivers are up to date in Windows 7 to avoid any connectivity issues.

    Compatibility

  5. Operating System Compatibility: Some older proxy servers might have compatibility issues with newer operating systems like Windows 7. Check if there are any updates or patches available for the proxy server software.
  6. Protocol Support: Confirm that the proxy server supports the network protocols used by Windows 7.

    Additional Steps

  7. Restart System: Sometimes, a simple restart of the system can resolve connectivity issues.
  8. Alternate Proxy Servers: Try using different proxy servers to see if the issue persists. If none of the above solutions work, it might be helpful to contact the administrator of the proxy server or seek assistance from a network specialist to diagnose the problem further. By troubleshooting these areas, you should be able to identify the root cause of the issue and hopefully resolve the proxy setup problem on Windows 7. If you encounter any specific error messages or behaviors while trying to access the webpage, providing more details can help in providing a more targeted solution.
