Microsoft held a press event today in New York to announce the 'Windows 10 Creators Update'.

This new update, which is free by the way, will be with us in early 2017 and contains some exciting announcements.

Microsoft have released a blog detailing some of the specifics which is included below:

The Windows 10 Creators Update
The Windows 10 Creators Update is coming as a free update in early 2017.

The Creators Update will enable anyone to create, share and experience in 3D and mixed reality, connect people faster to those they care about most and empower every gamer to be a broadcaster. And with the Creators Update, Microsoft Edge will be the first browser to bring 3D to the web.

3D for everyone
We introduced a new way to bring your ideas to life with Paint 3D, your new 3D art studio.

We also introduced the new online community Remix3D.com, connecting creators and creations around the world. Remix 3D will enable all new scenarios for creators to share their 3D creations broadly with the Remix 3D community. Everyone is welcome to start creating and sharing in Paint 3D today by joining the Windows Insider Program at insider.Windows.com. You can learn more about 3D in Windows 10 in this blog post and at Remix3D.com.

Office apps to support 3D models and add new inking features
The Windows 10 Creators Update is bringing new features to Office apps, including support for 3D models and new inking capabilities.

With PowerPoint on Windows 10, you will be able to add 3D models to bring your presentations to life and you will be able to change perspectives of 3D models by rotating in three dimensions and apply transitions like Morph to apply cinematic 3D animation. The new inking capabilities announced today in Office include Ink Editor in Word, which lets you use your digital pen intuitively to make changes directly in Word, making your pen a more powerful editing tool than ever. To learn more about these new features, visit the Office Blog.

Bringing mixed reality to people everywhere

The Windows 10 Creators Update will be the most powerful and affordable way to experience mixed reality. Today we announced that HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Dell and Acer will ship the first VR headsets capable of mixed reality through the Creators Update. Coming in 2017, these accessories will contain built-in sensors to enable inside-out, six-degrees of freedom for simplified set-up and to more easily move around your home as you experience virtual worlds — no markers required.

Every gamer becomes an in-game broadcaster

We’re making it super easy for anyone to become a game broadcaster or watch live gameplay with Beam technology that we’re building into Windows 10 and Xbox One, and we’re adding custom, gamer-created tournaments to Arena on Xbox Live. So whether you’re playing on Xbox One or a Windows 10 PC, Xbox is bringing every player together to play, compete, and broadcast. You can learn more about today’s gaming news on Xbox Wire.

A faster way to connect and share with people who matter most

With the Windows 10 Creators Update, we are putting the people you care about most at the center of your experience — right where they belong — with Windows MyPeople. With MyPeople, you will be able to pin your favorite contacts to the Windows task bar, and easily drag and drop any document, photo or video right on top of the contact for easy sharing.

Stay tuned — this is just the beginning
3D and mixed reality for everyone, in-game broadcasting and MyPeople are just some of the new experiences coming to the Windows 10 Creators Update in early 2017. Additional productivity, creativity, security and gaming features will also be included and announced soon so stay tuned!

I just had palpitations after seeing the price of those. I could build 3 decent gaming PC for the price of the 2TB model.

Lol yeah but they are pretty cool. I got a HP Omen. i7 6700HQ, 32GB DDR4, 512SSD and a Hybrid 2TB, Nvidia 965M and 4K screen for $1700

Most likely unencrypted as well. It would have been great if they had the foresight to link it to a few messaging apps like Skype, WhatsApp or even Facebook Messenger. Not sure about this one. Looks like another service I'll be disabling in group policy if it insists on sitting around using CPU cycles.

Correction: It does look like its linked to Skype. Wonder what build this is. Clearly not for "Insiders".

the last couple of threads I covered quite intensely, that Microsoft should have by the past weeks end that they will have signed off on the RTM build for the Creators Update.

I myself updated to the VERY last build 15061 which happened on Friday, Friday morning my time (PST).

I would be happy to see we insiders receive the RTM build this coming week.

I'll keep you posted!

Evidence has been mounting lately to indicate that Windows 10 build 15063 is the 'RTM' build for the upcoming Creators Update, also referred to as 'Version 1703'. That build is now available for PCs and phones in the Fast ring, PCs in the Slow ring, and for those on the Xbox Insider Program; and the SDK and Mobile Emulator for the same build appeared online last week.

On top of that, Microsoft has released its first preview of Version 1704 for Xbox Insiders, which is also part of the build 15063 series - another strong indicator that 15063 will be the build that is rolled out globally to devices as the Creators Update in the weeks ahead.

Microsoft hasn't yet made an official announcement about whether or not 15063 will be the 'final' Creators Update build for that rollout - and it's possible that such an announcement may never come. But with very little time remaining until the update's release, it's looking increasingly likely that that will be the build (although the final release may well include some sort of cumulative update with additional bug fixes, and a 15063.xxxx build number).

Today, ISOs for build 15063 have made an appearance on Microsoft's servers ahead of their official release. Steve Truman (@KPRP42) shared the direct download links with us for two of the build 15063 ISOs that are now available from Microsoft.com:

We've installed build 15063 using the ISOs on two systems, with no issues during installation. As you can see from the links above, they still identify the build as an 'Insider Preview'; the app no longer displays 'Insider Preview' in Settings > System > About, but since this has been the case in other recent preview builds, this should not be taken as implicit confirmation that 15063 is the RTM build.

With the ISOs now on Microsoft's servers, an announcement about their availability should come soon, and that they'll be posted to the official Insider Preview download page in the coming days along with Enterprise, Education, and other variants.

(Via Neowin) Windows 10 Creators Update is now available to install using Microsoft's Update Assistant

Yesterday, ISOs appeared on Microsoft's servers for what was presumed to be the 'RTM' build for the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update. With PCs and phones in the Insider Fast ring, PCs in the Slow ring, and consoles on the Xbox Insider Program all running Windows 10 build 15063, there was little doubt that that build was the one we've been waiting for - especially when you also consider that the SDK and Mobile Emulator for 15063 also appeared online last week.

Now, it seems there's no further room for doubt, as Microsoft's own Windows 10 Update Assistant has confirmed that build as "the latest version" of the OS. A new edition of the Windows 10 Update Assistant, which you can download here, was revealed by the mysterious WalkingCat on Twitter a few days ago.

Initially, the new Update Assistant would not allow users to actually download the build - but now, as Twitter user WZor spotted, Microsoft has enabled the download, allowing users to immediately update their systems to Windows 10 build 15063.

Be aware that the version of the Update Assistant for the Creators Update is different to that released for the Anniversary Update last year. If you run the previous edition of the Assistant on a PC running the Anniversary Update (or earlier Windows 10 versions), it will tell you that your device is up to date, and won't offer any further options.

Microsoft hasn't yet announced when it plans to roll out the Creators Update, but it has said that it will be released initially for PCs, before making its way to other devices later. But as Victor Denancy pointed out to us on Twitter, there are indications that its rollout will begin on April 11.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I have the CU (Creators Update here out) already. I had kind of thought that they'd maybe insert "Creators Update" in the "about" section of the settings. But not actually necessary.

It's still not 100% that the build 15063 is the the RTM as it still has bugs. April 11th is still a while away so who know's what will happen before then?

As with the15063 iso's the 15063 update assistant has now been pulled.

Update: 18 hours after the ISOs appeared on Microsoft's servers, it seems they've now been pulled, returning 404 errors when trying to download. It's likely that they'll return eventually as the 'final' RTM release - including the additional 15053.xxxx cumulative updates that will eventually roll out as the Creators Update. For now, it appears that build 15063 won't be available for a little white so hang in there for now!

based upon earlier reports a couple weeks ago. Microsoft was said to have signed off on the actual build for the Creators Update last week or so. Insiders and supposed to be getting the CU build any day now through the insider update system. But yes, no official word. doesn't surprise me as Microsoft hasn't been forthcoming with changelogs this past year when they release new builds. usually a changelog is always released so users know what to expect/issues. Any way @kemical , good to see you brother!

this is what perturbs me about Microsoft. they have totally lost their senses. putting out builds then taken them down, release builds without any info AND without changelogs. Microsoft needs to get a handle on their toys

Let's hope they fixes some bugs also
Well, I do love windows 10, when Windows 8 did get released I did go over to Apple (macOS) but now when I did purches there Macbook Pro 2016 and I did replace 5 because of DOA then I did go back to Windows (Lenovo Thinkpad T470s) and to tell the trough I do love it.
It's faster, snappier and it seems more stable even.
