Microsoft release Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15046 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

Hey everyone! I upgraded to insider build 15046. barring any real issues it should be the creators update build to be released late this month or April.

I did a thread HERE. Basically put, there's a workaround for hangups, which I myself had with 15042. the work around is as such;

  1. Manually reboot your PC if it “hangs” at the boot logo during the first attempt to install build 15042
  2. Allow your PC to successfully roll back to your previous OS build
  3. Log into your PC and open a Command Prompt (Admin) window:
    Note: You MUST do this in Command Prompt, NOT PowerShell!
    - Click Start
    - Type Command Prompt
    - Right-click Command Prompt (desktop app) in the results list
    - Select Run as Administrator
    - Click Yes to confirm
  4. One line at a time, paste these commands into the command prompt window.
    Press enter after each line:
    reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\setup\upgrade\nsimigrationroot /f

    netsh int ipv6 set locality state=disabled

    reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nsi\{eb004a01-9b1a-11d4-9123-0050047759bc}\28 /f
  5. Close the Command prompt window
  6. Reboot your PC
  7. Re-scan for updates and re-attempt the install
I did exactly steps 3-7 BEFORE attempting to upgrade my build. I installed Windows 10 pro last night and then updated to build 15046. the work around worked perfectly. We are about a month or so out from the Official release of Redstone2 (Creators Update). As I type Microsoft have also officially begun work towards the completion and release for Redstone 3 which, is slated to officially release sometime this fall.

The Settings window has also received a couple new features/changes to the home window seen here below;

I marked the two new features with the blue check marks. The gaming on a loose glance deals a lot with the game bar, game mode and broadcasting. Personally, this is a welcome aspect given Microsoft touted their continuum platform and this brings the Xbox one/PC/Laptop gaming aspects of Windows 10 to fruition.

I haven't had any issues thus far with this build which tells me the release should be sooner rather than later. Microsoft should be completely done with the bug bashing phase of this build and there should be the public release.

Microsoft release Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15048 for PC and Build 15047 for Mobile:

Whats new in the latest builds:

Anything you do in command prompt can be done in powershell. Command prompt is actually going to be hidden in the creator build and eventually deprecated.

I had heard something that device manager or control panel was to be removed as well. either/or-or both.

It's certainly possible, MS has been trying to migrate all of the control panel settings to SystemSettings.

I am running build 15048 and you can find the control panel if you go to start and scroll down to system. it is in there.

yeah it is. But word is, Microsoft want to remove the old control panel and incorporate the new one as @Neemobeer stated, to the new settings area.
