It seems like your files are not in the Windows.old folder as expected after reinstalling Windows 10. Here are some steps you can take to try to recover your missing files: 1. Check Windows.old Folder: - Sometimes, files can be found in the Windows.old folder. Ensure you have checked this folder thoroughly to see if your files are located there. 2. Use File Recovery Software: - Try using reputable file recovery software like Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or Stellar Data Recovery. Sometimes, files can be hidden and not easily visible. Go to the View tab in File Explorer and check the Hidden Items box. 4. Search for Specific File Types: - If you are looking for specific file types, you can use the search function in File Explorer. Try searching for known file extensions or file names to see if they show up. 5. Check Cloud Storage: - If you have used cloud storage services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive, check these accounts online to see if your files were synced to the cloud. 6. Look for External Backups: - If you had any external backups or saved your files on an external drive, check these backups to see if your files are stored there. 7. Offline Windows Account: - If your previous files were stored in an offline Windows account that was not linked to your Microsoft account, accessing them directly might be challenging. It is recommended to create and sign in with the same offline Windows account to access the files. 8. Data Recovery Services: - If the above methods do not work, professional data recovery services might be able to help you retrieve your lost files. Contacting a data recovery specialist could be an option if the data is critical and has not been recoverable through software solutions. If these steps do not help in recovering your missing files, consider reaching out to a professional data recovery service for further assistance.
