For many years my computer has been connected to the TV using HDMI. This worked well for all Windows versions through Windows 10. But when I updated to Windows 11 the computer cannot detect the TV as a display. I have checked cables, connections, drivers, and all parameters that I can see. Can anyone suggest a solution?

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with HDMI connectivity after upgrading to Windows 11. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the display detection issue:
1. Check Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
- Scroll down and click on "Detect" under the Multiple displays section to see if Windows can find your TV.
2. Update Graphics Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting it.
- Expand the "Display adapters" section, right-click on your graphics card, and select "Update driver."
- Choose “Search automatically for updated driver software” and follow the prompts.
3. Use the Correct HDMI Port:
- Ensure that you’re connecting to the correct HDMI port on your TV. Sometimes, switching the port can make a difference.
4. Check TV Input Settings:
- Make sure the TV is set to the correct HDMI input. Use the remote to cycle through the input options.
5. Restart Devices:
- Sometimes a simple restart can resolve the issue. Try restarting both your PC and TV.
6. Compatibility Mode:
- If you have any third-party display management software, consider uninstalling it temporarily to eliminate any conflicts.
7. Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, newer updates may resolve compatibility issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click on "Check for updates."
8. Adjust Resolution:
- Sometimes, setting a lower resolution temporarily can help. In the Display settings, try adjusting the resolution and see if it detects the TV.
9. HDMI Cable:
- Even if it worked before, it's possible the HDMI cable has developed a fault. If you have another cable, try swapping it out.
10. Reinstall Graphics Drivers:
- If updating didn't work, you could also try uninstalling the graphics driver completely and then reinstalling it.
If none of these steps work, you might want to check if there are any known issues with your specific graphics card and Windows 11. Another option could be to look into the compatibility of your graphics hardware with Windows 11, particularly if it’s older.
Feel free to provide more details about your graphics card and the TV model if further assistance is needed!
