Hello all and thanks for allowing me to be a part of your community.
I recently received a 3d printer without any software and have been attempting to load some programs to help me run the machine. The general consensus from what i have seen on discussion boards is a program called 'makerware'. I have use some links on a discussion board to download several version of the program, but keep experiencing an 'appcrash' while opening the programs after installation. the following is the error info:

I was able to run the program after uninstalling my intel HD driver.
I ran directx diagnostic tool and saw that I am running 32 bit on my display. I downloaded the 64 bit version of makerware, could this by why i am having issues with my driver causing the program to crash? Here is some driver info i recieved. does anyone have suggestions for manual upgrades from intel? according to HP and intel my drivers are up to date, but the last upgrade from HP is in 2010. I used the intel driver update utility and it basically just directed me to HP to get the update. There must be a more recent upgrade, right? I also tried to disable 3d acceleration, but windows would not allow (button greyed out). Any help would be greatly appreciated...

afraid you won't get much help from me, stouffy … however, am suggesting for you to provide a bit more information … this may assist other team-members at this forum.

model-name/number of the 3d-printer would be a good start. seems makerbot products are what the software makerware is intended for. and if the equipment you bought is a makerbot 3d-printer … have you already visited their support facility? :

The device is a CTC Bizer dual extruder (CTC 3D Printer - Dual Extruder - MK8- Factory Direct Lowest Price- Free ABS/PLA | eBay). From what I understand, it is a cheap chinese knockoff of the makerbot replicator 2. I own an hp touchsmart 600-1120, running windows 7 home premium service pack 1, which came with the computer.

Among CTC groups and forums, it appears that makerware is the standard for software. I have also tried another program called flashprint and come across the same issue (appcrash). I found a thread that mentioned downloading older version so makerbot desktop, but I'm still having same error (in fact the error info above is from version 2.4, I believe the most recent listed on the makerbot website is 3.1).

I followed your lead to makerbot support, which mentioned updating driver software. According to my pc, drivers are up to date, and an intel driver update utility I downloaded states that all my drivers are generic and doesn't offer any update options. as I do not have a makerbot, I cannot take it any further than that, because then they want to open a case, and in order to do that, I must own a makerbot.

I am going to uninstall 2.4 and reinstall the most recent update from the website.

32 bit is just the number of colors available regarding the display that's basically the same for everybody. That's not a driver architecture. We would need the make/model of the computer to see if there is a more current driver.

HP touchsmart 600 running windows 7 home premium service pack 1, which came with the computer. it has an intel core i3-330m processor (3M cache, 2.13 GHz)

well i figured out my makerware crash, had to uninstall my hd graphics. but now i find that makerware is not going to cut it with my printer.
