hi i've been having lots of blue screens and error codes on my toshiba laptop microsoft , me and the techguys agree a format install is the only way forward . i purchased the student editon but have got a winodws 7 backup disk from microsoft for an extra £9 does anyone know if i can do a format install with this disk or is it upgrade only

thanks

There was a sticky thread here in this forum that explained how to do it. I can't find it now. It requires a workaround. The easiest way is to make a bootable usb drive. Microsoft realeased a too but I like unetbootin better.

Not a problem at all... however your upgrade KEYCODE won't work without using a workaround.

I figured you had an upgrade key because you mentioned the upgrade disk.

Run it in evaluation mode for 30 days.
