Windows 7 Windows 7 not reading the correct amount of RAM

I got this problem with the beta(build 7000) not reading the correct amount of RAM
My computer have 2GB RAM installed, but since windows only reads 1GB. It always goes slow when I start new processes.
I was also wondering what's the normal amount of memory Windows 7 uses.

my computer:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ 2.00GHz
RAM: DDRAM 2GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1) 256MB
Motherboard: Nforce4-A939

The normal amount of memory used depends on how much is available. Windows 7 scales itself to the resources provided as to not hog them. As for your RAM issue, where does it report only 1 GB? As in, what are you using to look at the RAM installed?

Try CPU-z: Link Removed due to 404 Error

If that reports it correctly, you're good.

also, have a look if you bios detects the right amount of ram.

I will try this program when I get home.
When I go to control panel, and then click on system I get an window with the specs to my computer.
But I know I got 2GB RAM since I installed those myself in the computer, and I had no problem with it on XP.

There are two freeware programs that give you results for every aspect of you system including RAM and how much it's using at the present time:
