Windows 7 to be shipped in Europe sans Internet Explorer

Microsoft has responded to the EU's antitrust investigation into its bundling of its browser with Windows by deciding to ship Windows 7 in Europe without Internet Explorer 8 installed. Say hello to the spiritual successor of Windows XP N: Windows 7 E.

Solution
I thought you only update via IE in XP. In 7 you just use the Windows Update program. If you go to windowsupdate.com from another browser it tells you to use IE, and if you go to it using IE on Windows 7 it tells you to use the Start menu and launches the program automatically.
At this point, MS has agreed to take IE out and ship without a browser, but the EU still wants them to put another browser in (FF, Chrome, etc.)

I don't know if you guys remember, but a few years ago, there was a big brouhaha about Microsoft not providing a way to uninstall IE for those who wanted to use another browser and get rid of the space taken up by IE. This was before large hard drives became so cheap and plentiful.
