Are all windows vista drivers windows 7 compatible?

Is it true that windows 7 upgrade advisor approves a device, if it has a windows vista compatible driver?

I post this here, because many compatibility problems end up here.

More devices are showing win 7 specific drivers but where they are not showing the Vista driver will often work. Unfortunately neither of these points are universal and I recommend you should check each device on the manufacturer's website.
