Windows 7 Windows 7 Window Flash to Desktop Problem

Hi,
I've been having this problem for the past month or so and it is getting VERY Frustrating.
Basically, whenever i am browsing in Windows Explorer and looking through folders, it will randomley act as if i clicked on the desktop (therefore unselecting the current window) and then will switch back.
This happens every 5 - 10 sec on my main HDD, every 2-3 min on firefox and every .5-2 sec on my external 2TB USB 3.0 HDD.

This makes it very annoying when i am trying to type things or rename things.


IF ANYONE has ANY idea of what to do please tell me.
This is the weirdest problem my computer has encountered yet.

clean all temporary files and cookies from each broswer you use. Then chech your system for bugs such as malware, spyware, adaware and virus's.

Yeah i've already tried exactly what you said.

This is called crash to desktop, so I've been told. I had the same thing happen to me but is was with L4D2. I just deleted said game and reinstalled it and it went away for me. Try unistalling IE and then reinstalling it...worth a shot. The only other alternative would be to reinstall OS.

i was afraid of that.
it will be about the 6th time i will have to re-install windows due to a unfixable error.
ah well tis life.
