Windows 8 Windows 8 app video wont play?

Okay so ive searched for a resolution for this everywhere but it seems like im the only one with this issue, whenever i try to play video in a windows 8 app I get an error or the video just loads forever... however everything else about apps work just cannot play videos inside apps

Check your MS updates, there should be some app updates and I believe there is one for the video app.

Anytime someone mentions videos and Windows 8, the first thing I think of is do you have the codecs to run the videos. Would you happen to know what that app uses .. maybe something like flash...?

I really don't watch much video with the computer, except for Netflix, so bassfisher may know best.
