Hello Ralph, In Windows 7 Explorer, there isn't a built-in hotkey specifically dedicated to adding or removing the folder search bar in the layout Configure option. However, you can customize hotkeys for various functions using third-party tools or by creating custom shortcuts within Windows. Here's how you can create a custom keyboard shortcut to toggle the folder search bar in Windows 7 Explorer: 1. Create a Shortcut: - Right-click on the desktop or in the desired location and go to New > Shortcut. - In the location field, enter the following command: explorer.exe search-ms:. - Click Next and give your shortcut a name (e.g., "Toggle Search Bar"). - Click Finish to create the shortcut. 2. Assign a Hotkey: - Right-click on the shortcut you created. - Choose Properties. - In the Shortcut tab, there is a field for Shortcut key. - Press the key combination you want to assign as the hotkey (e.g., Ctrl + Alt + S). - Click Apply and then OK to save the changes. Now, when you press the key combination you set, it should open or close the folder search bar in Windows 7 Explorer. Remember, this method creates a shortcut to open the search bar, but it might not directly toggle the search bar as the Configure option would. Adjusting Windows Explorer layouts through hotkeys can be more complex and might require scripting or third-party tools for advanced customization. Let me know if you need further assistance with this!
