Dear Windows 7-Users,
i've installed Windows 7 RC a few weeks ago.
As i read, it should run until July,2010
Now, my taskbar on the right bottom says: "You've to activate your Windows. It will expire in 5 days" (or something like this, it displays in german).
My Windows 7 IS activated.
What should i do now?
Thanks for your support
greets

Sorry Max, but I believe in solving the original OP's question first as things get confusing when others add their own comments
This is totally new to me and I don't recall seeing anything like this on the forums (displayed in German)
And the download was the English version?

Thats OK! Sorry, for my intervention.
>And the download was the English version?<
No, the german.
There are also other things, they W7 is losing after a time, e.g. energymanagementsettings and others...
But, now i will wait for the answer from Johannes.... (and: sorry, for my bad english... )

No, you misunderstood, it not an intervention, it's perfectly fine that you posted.
I'll be interested in hearing from other people who have downloaded the German version with the same issue.
Right now, I'm at a loss for words.

You've got a few choices:
-set back the clock until you find a solution
-reinstall (blah.........)
Don't know if we're allowed to talk about it, but, if not:
-get a cra** (you know the last letters, just don't want to get in trouble here.)
maybe one that stops time for activation.

Oh, sorry...
There is a little difference to the text from Johannes.
It isnt saying: "You've to activate your Windows. It will expire in 5 days", but it says, that i "dont have activated W7" - or so... (my bad english).
This message comes after a while working with W7 (any hours).
After a new start all seems to be ok (no message).
Therfore i dont need a c****...
Only, if i try to activate W7 once more, i get the "bing" searchside....
Can that be right????
But: where is Johannes? We need an answer from him...

Heeey booyss,
sorry, I'm late. In Germany, there's another time zone.
I activated Windows directly while (or short time after) the installation.
The RC is downloaded from the original microsoft side.
i don't have any restricitons (or i just don't cognize them.)
Now, there's no message. But in a few hours, there will be the same text. I'm sure.
I don't want to reinstall windows, that's so annoying (reinstalling anything blabla)
Thanks for your support, i'm glad about it!

Servus Johannes!
Andere Zeitzone als in Österreich? lol...
Now it is clear, he HAS the same "problem" as me...
And, now i have my message: "Die Echtheit dieser Windowskopie wurde noch nicht bestätigt"...
And... if i try to start the Windows-Editor i get the message:
"This computer is not running genuine Windows
To use this feature whitout interruption, this computer needs to be running genuine Windows.
Whit genuine Windows you have access to all Windows updates...." and so on...
"Resolve online now"
OK, But if i do that, i get only the Microsoft-Searchside from "Bing"..
Therefore i cant "Resolve online now"...
WHY???

Is there really no solution or help for this bug?
What is Microsoft saying?
He know this bug?
I spend many time (and money also) to test this RC for Microsoft, and there is nobody from Microsoft they can spend a little time for this problem and give an answer?
OK. I think, W7 is as well unusable like Vista, if there is no help possible.
Buy W7?
Why?
To get into trouble?
No - thanks...

Ok, final countdown!
It says something like:
"The RC Windows 7 Ultimate expires in 2 days
If you want to use Windows beyond, you have to save your data and install any Edition of Windows 7 Ultimate"
i just can't understand it. I AM running any Edition of Windows 7
Please help us!

Hi Johannes!
Do you have the BETA or really the RC-Version (BuildNr. > 7100) from W7?
