Hello and welcome to the Windows7forums,

Go to Start > Run, and type services.msc

Scroll down until you see Windows Update and make sure it;s started and set to Automatic.

If it isn't started, right-click on it and choose start.

You may have to reboot your computer for the change to take affect.

It's not there o_O

Go to Start > Run, and type services.msc.

Look for Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager and make sure that's also started and set to Automatic.

I've done some searching on Google and found out a virus may b causing this issue.

I would suggest a complete scan of the hard drive.

Seeing Windows update does not appear in services, you basically have 2 choices.

Choose a restore point to go back to or perform a "clean" install.

Be aware, you'll need to re-install all your 3rd party application.

You also have yo cop your Documents, pictures, music, video's, contacts, etc to a flash drive.
