Hi,
First time posting here.

I used to play all type of file such mp4,mp3,flv,wmv and etc with my wmplayer.
Recently,i download 1 software for subtitle.
After that,i cannot use my wmp to play flv files.
So,i uninstalled the subtitle software from my pc.
But still,my wmp cannot play flv files..only wmv.
Maybe i accidently uninstalled other thing also?
Now,if i want to play flv i open wmclassic..but if i use wmv file with wmclassic..the video will stutter and freeze.
I want all my audio and video file can be open in 1 player like it used to.
Can give me some advise?

Solution
It seems like your Windows Media Player (WMP) is facing issues playing certain file formats after you installed and uninstalled a subtitle software. To troubleshoot and resolve the playback issues with different file formats in Windows Media Player, you can try the following steps:

Solution Steps:

  1. File Associations:
    • Check if the file associations for the media formats are set correctly to Windows Media Player.
    • Set default file associations for all media formats to Windows Media Player.
    []Install Codecs:
    • Install additional codecs that might be required to play certain file formats like FLV in Windows Media Player.

    • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off, then uncheck Windows Media Player, restart your PC, and re-enable it.
    []Update Windows Media Player:
    • Ensure that your Windows Media Player is up to date. You can check for updates through Windows Update.

    ]Check System Restore:
    • Consider using System Restore to revert your system back to a point before you installed the subtitle software to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Alternative Media Players:
    • If Windows Media Player continues to have issues, you can consider using alternative media players like VLC Media Player or MPC-HC (Media Player Classic Home Cinema) that support a wide range of formats.

      Additional Tips:

      • Make sure that your system is free from malware that could affect media playback.
      • Always download software from reputable sources to avoid compatibility issues and unwanted software installations.
