Windows 7 XP Mode and hardware drivers

Can anyone tell me if XP mode will be the solution to this scenario: I have a midi/audio controller (Tascam US-428) which is no longer supported, hence no drivers for Windows 7

However, the software that I use in conjunction (via USB) with the controller (Cubase) runs fine in Windows 7. If I install the XP hardware drivers for the controller in XP mode, will they still work when I run Cubase in Windows 7? Or would I also need to run Cubase in XP mode as well?

All you need in this situation is to install Tascam US-428 driver. Try XP or preferably Vista compatible driver in XP or Vista compatibility mode.

If the driver doesn't install, Control Panel > Device Manager > right click Tascam US-428 > Properties > Update driver > Browse to the folder with the XP/Vista driver files extracted in it.

A small chance it'll work.
