Pressing Win+Q under Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 Preview on my desktop PC and laptop displayed the app search screen. Under Window 8.1 RTM Win+Q shows only the Search charm which is identical to pressing Win+S.

Is this the case after you upgraded, too?

The same happened on my laptop for about a month when running Preview, but a subsequent update restored the app search screen to Win+Q.

Desktop PC: Window 8.1 Pro 64-bit
Laptop: Window 8.1 64-bit
