📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses difficulties installing the scan driver for a Brother MFC-7840W printer, as it doesn't appear in Device Manager despite repeated driver installations. The original poster expected a separate scan driver or utility and was advised to try a utility download, which ultimately enabled scanning even though the direct link was broken. Later comments mention the availability of various printer supplies and resources, though they are somewhat unrelated to the initial technical issue. Overall, the discussion highlights troubleshooting steps for scan driver issues and the challenge of obtaining proper utilities without the original CD.

Although I've installed the Brother Drivers several times, the scan driver is not visible in the equipment manager. Is there any possibility to install the scan driver separate?

You might try the link below to see if anything makes sense. I did see a Print & Scan utility download, maybe it is related.

In some cases it is possible to need a separate utility. Do you have the Driver Install CD that probably came with the printer?

What model is the printer?

It's a Brother MFC-7840W.
Unfortunately, I don't have the original driver CD not anymore.

Hi, that was a good hint. At least I'm now able to scan. The files are stored in the icloud.
Thanks a lot
