Hi

On my wife's computer in Windows 8.1 she uses Thunderbird as her mail client.

But when she clicks on a mail link in on line in Chrome or IE it opens the Mail app instead of Thunderbird, and want's her to log into her Microsoft account.

The mail app doesn't work with Comcast mail even if she wanted to do that.

I looked through Chrome preferences but I can't find anything like make Thunderbird your default email client.

Does anyone know how to set it so that the links will open Thunderbird instead?

Mike

Solution
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations
Scroll way down to "MAILTO" that should handle most if not all email links. Just double click it and find your way to ThunderBird.

EDIT: And to get your Windows 8 Mail app to work with Comcast email
