green screen of death i call it...it shows as a green distortion across screen..i think its a pixel problem. -from opening and closing of lid for the last 7 years..what can i do to remedy this problem

Hi Dan,
have you tried updating the graphics driver? You will usually find an update on the manufacturers support page. So if your lappie is say a Dell pop over to the Dell website and you should have a support page for your model.
