Windows 7 Flash Devices Disapear During File Transfer

I have a flash MP3 player. In the middle of me transferring files the device disappears and the transfer stops. I thought that maybe it was just the device so I tried another flash device and it did it as well. Then I tried it in safe mode and it does it there as well.

Any thoughts or help would be great?

It sound a little strange, so I do not have an answer, but does it make a difference as to what type files you are transferring? In the age of DRM, there may be some things that do not work as they should.

They are MP3 files.
