Hi

When I run CCleaner I always get the message, "Microsoft Edge needs to close to complete this process", as far as I know Microsoft Edge isn't open, I never use it.

While we are on the subject I have a similar problem with Mail, I don't use it but it keeps receiving my mail at least on one of my accounts and popping up messages.

I'd like to not have Edge in the background, and I'd like to stop Mail from working, I use Thunderbird.

I don't see anything that starts either of these in the Startup items but I assume there is someway to deactivate them.

Any help welcome.

Mike

Solution
Which build?

On 1803, and possibly older builds.

  1. [Windows key + i]
  2. Privacy
  3. 'Background Apps'
Either toggle on/off individual apps or toggle on/off the global switch
