📎 AI Summary:
The original poster, pstein, asks where Windows 7 stores backup copies of hotfixes and patches, and how to uninstall them manually, without using Microsoft's Disk Cleanup utility. A respondent, Pauli, provides a link to a Microsoft Answers forum thread that likely contains relevant information about the storage location and management of Windows updates. Whenever I get and install hotfixes/patches for Windows 7 a copy of them is stored somewhere on the system partition for backup/uninstall purposes.

Where (in which directory) are they put in detail?

How can I uninstall them?

MS has just releases a patch to cleanup them through DIsk Cleanup utility.
But I prefer to do it NOT through MS utility but through a separate tool or even manually.

How can I do this?
