Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix this problem:

Steps to Fix Hyperlinks Ending with .txt Not Opening:

  • Check Default Programs:
  • Ensure that the default program for opening .txt files is set correctly. You can check this in the Default Programs settings in Windows.
  • Browser Settings:
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies.
  • Disable any browser extensions that might be interfering with how hyperlinks are handled.
  • Try opening the links in a different browser to see if the issue persists.
  • System Settings:
  • Check your default browser settings to make sure it is set as the default program for opening web URLs.
  • Run a full system scan for any malware or viruses that might be affecting your system.
  • File Associations:
  • Ensure that .txt files are correctly associated with a text editor on your system. This can impact how links with .txt extensions are handled.
  • Reset Browser Settings:
  • If none of the above steps work, you can consider resetting your browser settings to default. This can sometimes resolve unusual behavior.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure your browser and operating system are up to date.
  • Check if the issue occurs with all .txt links or only specific ones. If you have tried these steps and the issue persists, it might be helpful to provide more details about your browser version, operating system, and any recent changes that might have triggered this behavior. This information can help in diagnosing the issue more accurately.
