My wife has a new PC. Her sound recording application only has options for the source of the sound as microphone and line in. On her old computer there was an option for an internal source, some way to intercept sound on the way to the speakers.

The new PC has only on board sound.

Can anyone give me some insight as to what is going on?

Thanks, Jim

You might check by using the speaker icon to open the recording devices. Right click the window and select "Show Disabled Devices". Hopefully something like Stereo Mix or some other type device will show up.

Great advice! Stereo Mix did show up as disabled. All is well now.

Thanks, Jim
