Windows 7 Problems with Aero Peek

The trouble I am having is with programs not opening to the desktop. For instance if I make a sticky note it will disappear from the desktop. The icon for the sticky note is on the task bar and when I hover over it a mini page displays but when I click on the mini page it doesn't appear on desktop. Also this happens to big fish games manager. The program opens, icon on taskbar, mini window comes up but when I click on it it doesn't come up to desktop. The only I can get them to work again is to do a system restore. Everything else works when I click on aero peek window. I have even diabled aero peek and the programs still won't open, they go to taskbar but won't open to desktop. Any help will be appreciated!
