📎 AI Summary:
The forum thread discusses a Windows 7 user experiencing freezing issues with MS Spider Solitaire, where the game displays a different set of cards during the freeze, which then revert back. The problem persists regardless of running or not running Infinity.exe (a trainer), and typical troubleshooting steps like reinstallation, registry check, and CHKDSK haven't resolved it. Contributors speculate that the issue might involve the game connecting to Microsoft's online servers or accounts, but no definitive solution has been provided.

Never had this problem before :-

1) load MS spider solitaire

2) which loads but after a few seconds freezes the PC for about 5 seconds and then everything returns to normal.

3)During the freeze SS displays a completely different set of cards which return to the start set when the freeze is over.

Also :-
1. If I run Infinity.exe (a trainer) it loads then after a few seconds is replaced by the same window of cards that SS show when it freezes. They remain around 8 seconds, disappear and Infinity runs normally.

2. This happens whether SS is running or not.

3. The problem with SS was present before Infinity was installed.

Have tried :-
1. removing and adding the game via Control Panel.
2. Registry check
3. running CHKDSK
None of which worked. Win logs showed nothing.
Otherwise the PC is running perfectly with no ther programs affected.

System is :- Win 7 x64 on 500gb SSD

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have THE answer, but I think that MS Games is trying to connect to your MS Games account and it has to wait until the connection times out and than restores your deck.

I could not find an option to disable this, sorry

I think Solitair switches from a local deck to an on-line deck somewhere in the Microsoft cloud....
