Hi all,

Something recently messed up on my machine, and I can't see the drive in File browser windows from Windbg.
I am seeing this,
An image from 'Unable to see Drives in File Browser.'. Two Windows dialog boxes for browsing and selecting folders from different user Desktop directories.


from application called "Windbg" which is the most common debugger on Windows platform.

I can't see drives, I am supposed to see something like this(from friends machine) ,

I guess something has messed up in user permission model. But not sure what.

Can someone point me out, whats messing up?

Go to control panel > system is your computer's name listed? Then in CP open user accounts. Are you listed there? This presupposes you can even access control panel.

Please provide Make/Model of the computer you are using that's giving you this error.

Have you scanned your computer for Viruses?

Backup all your data to external media and attempt Windows SYSTEM RESTORE.
